"Making art for me is the attempt to manifest one’s own intimate biography through materials into the public and social discourse. This is not only about the form or the finished object, but rather about the process, the perspective and perception of a structure — all of which is defined by our dynamic surroundings, and contemplated through the tools, mediums, and technology of the present time and local place." Liat Grayver (1986, Afula) graduated with a Meisterschueler degree (post-graduate ) from the Meistersklasse of Prof. Joachim Blank (Media Art 2018) following her studies as post-graduated and MFA in the class of Prof. Heribert. C. Ottersbach (painting and printmaking 2015) at the Art Academy of Leipzig (HGB). For the past 4 years Grayver is working in cross disciplinary collaborations through numerous independents and artist in residency projects. In 2015 she was invited as a guest artist at the MIT start lab, investigating temporal approaches to the medium of painting in relation to the Post-Digital age. Since January 2016, Grayver has been collaborating with the University of Konstanz on the e-David Project, exploring various approaches to integrate robotic and computer languages in the processes of painting and creative image-making. Grayver work has being acknowledged and support by various institutions, among others she was nominated in 2017 by Magazine EDITION F, as one of 25 Frauen, deren Erfindungen unser Leben erändern. This year she received the VERTIGO START scholarship by the European Union for art and since for her project Transhuman Expression, in collaboration with Casa Paganini and the weDRAW consortium (Genoa Italy) exploring human-machine interaction as a neutral base for a New artistic practice. Parallel, Grayver is holding a Fellowship position as Artist-in-Residence at the Exzellenzcluster - Cultural Foundations of Social integration, at Universität Konstanz, were she is investigating methods to redefine one of the primitive forms of art – painting- into our current technology based era. Her works have been exhibited in galleries, art fairs, and museums throughout Europe, Israel, and South Korea. Since 2014, Liat Gravyer is based in Berlin and working in Berlin, Leipzig, Konstanz and Tel-Aviv.
