I am currently a PhD researcher at the University of Southampton, a member of the Web and Internet Science Research Group, conducting interdisciplinary research about privacy and transparency, between the Faculty of Business and Law, and the Department of Electronics and Computer Science.

My current research interests include ethical, political and legal aspects of personal data, open data, and information governance. I also spent an unhealthy amount of time thinking about the ethics of patents whilst completing a Masters in philosophy of science and technology at the University of Cambridge.

I still have some faith in the idea of internet governance and am a graduate of the Internet Society's Next Generation Leaders programme. I am a member of the UK affiliate team for Creative Commons, an international non-profit organisation who maintain a suite of standardised content licenses which provide a flexible range of protections and freedoms for authors, artists, and educators.

I've worked as a consultant advising public and private sector organisations on their use of personal data. I also participate in various working groups in the area of decentralisation, privacy, and online rights.
