Jürgen Pahle studied Computer Science and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Karlsruhe and the University of Massachusetts, USA. He obtained his doctoral degree in Biophysics working at the EML gGmbH in Heidelberg and as an external doctoral candidate at the Humboldt University of Berlin. Then he was at the Manchester Interdisciplinary Biocentre in England and served as a visiting professor at the Saarland University in Saarbrücken. In 2014 he became an independent BIOMS group leader at the BioQuant, Heidelberg University. His research focuses on computational systems biology, particularly the study of information processing, transfer and storage in living systems.
