Regina works at the intersection of tech and social good: as an entrepreneur, public speaker, mentor, educator, researcher and an advocate for openness and inclusion. She has worked with 100+ social-tech startups worldwide and is looking forward to working with many more. She is the Founder and Director of the Social-Digital Innovation Initiative, facilitating, promoting and supporting the cross-pollination of the world of technology and social entrepreneurship and the creation of financially sustainable social businesses. She is a PhD Candidate, researching social innovation in critical technical practice and works as a Scientific Staff Member at the Technical University Berlin, focusing on collaborative technology design and society, fab labs and makerspaces and critical making. She is a Member of the Global Innovation Gathering (a global network of changemakers in technology) and Fellow at the Centre for Internet and Human Rights, an academic centre attached to the Chair of European and International Politics at the European University Viadrina. Previous roles include supporting CERN with #AttractYoung, a tech transfer hackathon, GIZ’s work with startups in West Africa, the Founder of the Young Innovators Program (the first co-creation and ideation platform of the United Nations) and Manager of Ashoka Digital and the Google Impact Challenge Germany accelerator program. As the Innovation Programmes Manager at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), she set up the Young Innovators Programme, a global co-creation platform for social entrepreneurs working with technology, an incubation program supporting winners of thematic challenges and The Lab, an interactive learning space in close cooperation with Ars Electronica.
